AgroPlast Ltd Distributes Energy-Saving Cookstoves to Refugees in Rwanda

In an effort to promote the use of energy-saving cookstoves and environmentally friendly fuel, AgroPlast Ltd is currently distributing this infrastructure to refugees in Kigeme, Mugombwa, Nyabiheke, Kiziba, and Mahama refugee camps in Rwanda. This project is funded by Practical Action in collaboration with Sida.

The distribution of energy-saving cookstoves is part of a larger initiative to improve living conditions for refugees and reduce the environmental impact of cooking practices in the camps. The new cookstoves are designed to be more efficient and produce less smoke, reducing the health risks associated with traditional cooking methods.

"We are excited to be able to provide refugees with access to energy-saving cookstoves," said Mr. Leon Nduwayezu, the CEO of AgroPlast Ltd. "Not only will this help improve their quality of life, but it will also contribute to a more sustainable future for all."

The distribution of the cookstoves is expected to benefit over thousanda of refugees living in the five camps. In addition to providing the cookstoves, AgroPlast Ltd will also offer training on how to produce them and use them effectively and safely.

"We are grateful for the support of Practical Action and Sida in funding this project," the CEO of AgroPlast added "Together, we are making a positive impact on the lives of refugees and the environment."

The distribution of energy-saving cookstoves is just one example of the innovative solutions being implemented to address the challenges faced by refugees in Rwanda. With continued support from organizations like Practical Action and Sida, refugees in the country can look forward to a brighter and more sustainable future.
